  • We are looking for 2 volunteers for 1st of October deadline. 
    Each volunteer will work in one of the 2 centres for adult disables run by Agorà for 9 months: 
    1) Centro Diurno per Disabili "La Cometa", a Bozzolo (MN) a non residential centre for disabled with a heavy handicap. The specific objectives are: personal autonomy; social integration; expansion of cognitive, communicative-relational and motor skills.
    2) Centro Socio Educativo "L'Aveare", a Casatico di Marcaria (MN) a centre addressed to disabled with a light/medium handicap. The specific objectives are: personal autonomy; social integration; expansion of cognitive, communicative-relational and motor skills and work-related abilities.

Tasks

Volunteers will work side by side with the staff supporting such activities as: - art-therapy workshops (painting, carpentry, pottery workshops, etc.); - activities supporting physical rehabilitation and training (gymnastics, open air activities, swimming, etc.); - excursions and summer camps, and daily life activities of the centres. Criteria

Candidates should: - Be flexible and willing to teamwork, - Interested and sensitive towards disabled people’s needs. - Have previously experienced voluntary activities (better if in the field of disability). - Ready to live in a small village in the countryside. - Moreover having a driving licence could be very useful for the volunteers, since public transportation in Bozzolo is not very implemented We will also take into account the professionalism and accessibility shown by the sending organisation on the basis of the contextual presentation of volunteers or of past collaborations, as well as the support and training they ensure before departure to them.

Procedure

Candidates should download and fill in the EVS form from the library section here below, and send to cristina.ronconi@ilsegnoonlus.it (please specify for which project you are applying) BY AUGUST 30TH. Only volunteers who will be pre-selected among the candidacies will be notified. Please note that if you don’t receive any answer it means that you haven’t been pre-selected). Then they will be asked for a skype interview to be done during the first week of September.
